Psalm 37:4

line Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Just this week, I heard an interesting description of this text. The focus was on God, and not us. (Imagine that)

Instead of “our desire“ being the center of focus, really the passage is about God and “His desire” being placed in our heart. Yet, this will only happen when we delight in the Lord. To delight would only happen when we agree with His mind, His thoughts, and His direction.

Another thought I had was this: The scripture speaks specifically of the Lord. The Lord is not just any “god”. Your god may not be my god. Some people are teaching (and believing) that “God” is encompassed in who they perceive their god to be. My god is the Lord, the God revealed in the bible and confirmed by His Son, Jesus Christ.
