Here’s My Shoulder, You Can Lean on Me

Tonight my heart is heavy because of one of my good friends is fighting a difficult challenge. She battles for a reason to live. I battle to keep the strength to be her friend – to know what to say, to have compassion for her in the midst of my own trials, to help point her to the Savior… and not to fall victim to the discouragements of living this life.

How can we call ourselves followers of Jesus, if we don’t give the hurting a shoulder to lean on?

“…better is a neighbor who is near, than a brother who is far away.” – Proverbs 27:10

This song touched my heart and helped guide me. I hope it helps you as well. I encourage you to watch this video and to reconsider what it really means to be a friend.

Kirk Franklin says it so well, “…friends are there to catch you when you fall”.
